Nifty references for major battles in Scotland

This book covers the major battles in Scotland starting from Wallace and de Moray's victory at Sterling Bridge and Wallace's later defeat at Falkirk, straight through to Culloden. Gives very detailed maps & locations references for those trying to visit these locations, a brief introduction to Scottish History and the in individual battles in a very readable form.
Very great quick reference work.

A look at well known battles in Scotland

I got this book hoping for a great little reference book on some of the more well known books. As I read it I kept finding some basic errors that makes me question how well researched the book is. The first portion of the book is a very quick over view of Scottish history from pre-history up to the time of William Wallace and the Bruce. I have read many other books on Scottish history and noticed that the information seemed to be very basic popular history found on the less researched books. The rest of the book is about various battles in Scotland during the wars of succession, between Scotland and England and finally Glencoe and the Jacobite rebellions.
The things that I noticed first off that made me question some of the details were the dynastic mistakes. The first was stating that Robert II was a Nephew of Robert the Bruce. Then Robert III is mistakenly referred to as Richard III. When discussing the arrival of the Hanovers to pre-empt the Jacobites, George I is stated to be the son of Sophia, daughter of King James I. Robert II was the Bruce's Grandson and George I was son of Sophia who was a daughter of Elizabeth the Winter Queen of Bohemia who in turn was the daughter of James I. These basic mistakes makes me question the amount of research and quality of the detail of the battles. Even the origins of the Stewarts is listed as pigs wards or "Sty-Wards" which became Stewart. That was a first for me.
A good basic snapshot of some of the more popular and well known battles but I would research a little deeper if you are looking for reference material.
