A lovely story to remember!

I have to admit that I am bias because this was one of the first books I learned to read nearly 15 years ago - and I still have it, sitting right here with me. This is a lovely story; it's not too complex as far as word detail, as it is intended for young children, but the pictures add a richness to the story that is much more easily understood than would be words.
The story itself is somewhat scary, like most children's stories tend to be. It is about a young mouse, Tippu, who is afraid of the dark and ultimately finds himself lost in the woods overnight. Happily, he returns home unharmed with a lesson learned: that the things he once feared were only his imagination.

Childhood Fave found at Last!!!

My mother bought this book for me from a McCrory store when I was 4 or 5 years old. I loved this book so much, and I lost it. Last month I thought about it again and all I could remember is that it had "dark" in the title, was a purple book with a mouse on the front going up the steps (so I thought) with a candle and on the back there were listings for other books. I always wanted to find this book for my daughter because I loved the story and it was one of the first I read by myself. My husband, daughter and I were on an outing last Saturday and we stopped in a nice Goodwill store. I always love getting books,games and movies for my daughter from the Goodwill because they always have nostalgic things that I remember having as a child for a very inexpensive price.
I was going through the books and came across one of the books in the series and immediately it brought back familiar memories. Although the book was read, it was a Happy Ending book. I flipped it over and sure enough titles of other books in the series were displayed. One of the titles was Adventure in the Dark. I bought that particular book and was soooo excited because I just knew that was the book I had been looking for. I looked it up online and on Amazon, and here it is!!! I bought the book on the spot, though the version I received is a small hardcover book and I am going to buy it again as this version, because it's the one I most remember and love. I looked inside at the pictures and the memories slowly came flooding in! I read it to my daughter last night and she enjoyed it. This is a book that I am excited and proud to add to my 4 y.olds library or books!
